Cardboard Collection Policy

Lacombe Weather:

THAT WHEREAS the Lacombe Regional Solid Waste Authority can no longer accept cardboard for transfer to their disposal sites and have requested member municipalities to sort the cardboard out of the waste delivered to the transfer sites; 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT: 

1.     Specially  identified steel containers and roll out bins be placed in the commercial areas for the collection of cardboard and paper products and delivery. 

2.     Collected material will be initially delivered to the Lacombe Regional Solid Waste Authority for disposal with the possible future delivery of material to a recycler should such opportunity emerge.  

3.     A total appropriation of  $2,350 for new bins and $6,890 for the repainting of existing bins be approved.  The budgeted transfer of funds from Function 43 - Garbage - to General Capital Reserve be reduced from $37,420 to $28,180 to meet this additional appropriation.
