TITLE: Leadership Development -
1989 Legacy Funds POLICY NO. 76/767.30 95
AND WHEREAS the Recreation, Parks and
Culture Board recommends that the surplus be placed
in a reserve for use towards local
sport development;
NOW THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1.
The surplus generated from the 1989 Team Parkland Trials be place in a
reserve
for use towareds local sport
development.
2.
Criteria for the disbursement of these funds be drawn up for
consideration by the Recreation
Board and Council.
1.
Purpose
1.1 To provide and enhance the growth of local sport development
within the Lacombe
and District Recreation
area.
1.2. To assist and support local
minor sport groups in the provision of leadership training
for coaches or
administrative volunteers
2.
Criteria for the Disbursement of Reserve Funds
2.1 To provide assistance to non profit, minor sport groups that
reside within the
Lacombe & District
Recreation area
2.2 To assist groups in hosting leadership courses/opportunities for
executive members,
coaches, etc.
2.3 To assist the Recreation Parks and Culture Department in hosting
or co-sponsoring
local and area leadership
opportunities in the sporting field
2.4 To offer initial assistance to local sporting groups in the
provision of new programs
2.5 To assist in the development of leadership in a new or developing
sport
2.6 To assist local sporting groups by sending representatives to
workshops/clinics/conferences that would benefit our local sporting associations
2.7 To assist and encourage coaches involved in the delivery of local
minor sports to
enhance their coaching
skills through certification programs and training
opportunities that would
benefit our local programs and athletes
2.8 To cover the cost of training that would normally not be covered
through a group’s
annual operating expenses
or other sources of funding
2.9 To cover costs for instructor fees, facility costs, promotion,
materials and supplies.
3.
Disbursement of Funds
3.1 Applications to be submitted to the Recreation Board on an
ongoing basis
3.2 Applications to be submitted to the Recreation Board for review
and
recommendation to Council.
3.3 Reimbursement up to the amount approved by Council will be
provide upon
submission of receipts at
the completion of the course/seminar.
