The Downtown core straddles Highway 12 between 53rd Street and Highway 2A, with the bulk of the existing and potential future development located on the north side of Highway 12. An inventory of existing parking supply and observations of existing traffic circulation confirmed the adequacy of the existing parking supply, including consideration of future development in the area, and highlighted the importance of 51st Avenue as the primary access route for Downtown now and in the future. This issue was discussed in more detail in a previous section and as well, the parking issue is discussed in further detail as part of the longer term program.
