While any of the three methodologies outlined here may be acceptable to the Town, it is recommended that Town seek submissions from developers of new subdivisions, the FWHA Traffic Noise Model using the most recent version, and using the criteria as outlined in this report. A detailed engineering drawing of A-1 size with site location, cross sections and details of proposed sound attenuation should be included as part of any and all submissions. As well, a copy of the data file (including the NAD 83 coordinates) shall be included.
Note that this Surface Transportation Noise Policy
is a basis for sound attenuation for residential development. The ongoing
process of noise data compilation and new sound attenuation designs will result
in future revisions of this document.
