PARK BENCH AND TREE MEMORIAL PROGRAM Elsie Bruns wanted to find a special way in which to celebrate her husband's life. He had farmed the Bruns Park area with his brother for much of his life and Elsie knew she somehow had to incorporate Bruns Park into her plan. In late 2000 it was suggested that a park bench and tree memorial program be undertaken by the Town of Lacombe and available to anyone who wanted to donate either a bench or a tree in memory of a lost loved one. When Elsie found out about our program from her daughter Clare Morrow she then knew how she would honor her husband. Now overlooking Bruns Park sits a welcoming bench for those wishing to rest for a few minutes and ponder the life of "A Farmer, A Traveller, An Ice Cream Maker", the exact words inscribed on the brass plaque which adorns his bench.
